Safari holiday packing list

Booking a safari holiday may be something that you have dreamed of for a while. Once the holiday is all booked and paid for you may start to focus on what you need to take with you. Many people panic a little about what they are going to need to take with them on a safari holiday, but your holiday tour operator should be able to talk you through a list. Below are a few points to remember when deciding on what to pack for your safari.

One important point to remember when packing, is pack light. There is no point in taking a load of stuff with you that you are not going to work. If you want to take extra luggage you will find that you will have to pay a premium for it.

Hats – It is vital to take sun hats with you when going on a safari holiday. Your hat needs to offer good sun coverage – especially round the back of your neck where you will often burn. It is also important that your hat is breathable. The chances are you will be wearing it for quite a period of time and you need to keep cool. It should be absorbent inside to take the sweat away from your face but it should also be waterproof on the outside as showers are frequent in Africa and often quite furious.
